We’re now only five days away from March 10th, and to some that might not seem especially noteworthy. To Nintendo fans however, this means that MAR10 Day is right around the corner, and a whole host of Mario related celebrations will be coming along with it. For those as excited as we are, you’ll be happy to hear that a handful of events and deals are already being rolled out early!

What events are coming as part of the MAR10 Day celebrations?

The early festivities for MAR10 Day are focused around reliving classic titles in the series. Until March 17th, a 14-day free trial of Nintendo Switch Online is available to all users so that they can enjoy the older entries – including those who have redeemed free trials in the past. In particular, by playing Super Mario World, users can receive Platinum Points to spend on an assortment of Nintendo Switch Online icons themed around the game.

There are also two sweepstakes available for entry right now. The first of the two features the chance to win three Mario-themed LEGO sets. The second is a collaboration with the clothing brand BlackMilk and offers a Princess Peach-themed outfit. Entry for both of these only requires ten Platinum Points, and up to three entries can be submitted per person.

A couple of in-person events will be taking place on March 10th as well! The Nintendo Store in New York will be hosting a meet-and-greet with Mario and Luigi themselves, along with some giveaways and a screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. There will also be an online Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament for players to participate in, running from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. PST on March 10th. Lastly, in-store demos for Mario titles and a giveaway of some free Mario merchandise will be available at participating GameStop locations on March 16th from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. local time.

What deals are available in celebration of MAR10 Day?

Starting on March 7th, an assortment of Mario titles for the Nintendo Switch will be discounted for MAR10 Day. The full list of affected games is not yet available, but the Nintendo website lists the following:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Mario Party Superstars
  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
  • Luigi’s Mansion 3

There will certainly be more available than are listed here, so check back on the Sales & Deals page on the Nintendo website on March 7th for the full list. Additionally, select in-person retailers will also feature discounted titles, starting on March 10th and running until the 16th. If you’re interested in any of these, keep an eye out for these deals and be sure not to miss out!
