If you’re on the fence about the upcoming remake of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, you’re in luck! Earlier this evening, Nintendo confirmed that a demo of the game is now available to download free of charge on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

According to Nintendo, the demo will feature four playable levels, two difficulty modes, and even a two-player mode! Not too bad for a demo, if I do say so myself. As a huge fan of the GBA original, I am more than excited to give this one a shot on the Switch. You can find a link to the game’s pre-order page and demo right here.
What is Mario vs Donkey Kong About?
Functionally a follow-up to the very underappreciated Donkey Kong ’94 for the Game Boy, Mario vs. Donkey Kong saw the big ape get infatuated by a bunch of small Mario toys and wreak havoc. The original’s pre-rendered sprites definitely show their age nowadays, so this new remake was well-deserved, but it’s not just the visuals that got an update as you can now play the game co-op with another player taking control of a Toad.
