From now until January 16, 2024, players of F-Zero 99 will be able to experience new frozen versions of tracks in the limited-time “Frozen Knight League” event. Replacing the traditional tracks for the duration of the event (outside of practice and training modes), this seasonal facelift isn’t just for show. Players will be able to unlock some unique rewards for their profile badge in-game.
The five tracks from the Knight League are the following:
- Mute City I
- Big Blue
- Sand Ocean
- Death Wind I
- Silence
While this event is ongoing, players will not be able to participate in the traditional Knight League Grand Prix. It’s currently uncertain if Nintendo will add these frozen versions for play outside of the event or if the Queen and King Leagues will also receive a similar makeover. Even still, this is a really cool way to update a classic update that many have been playing for decades.
