Considering Splatoon 3 introduced three-way Splatfests, it’s a bit of a surprise we’ve yet to see neapolitan ice cream be represented in the game. At the very least the next Splatfest is set to pit two of the three flavors against each other alongside mint chip, but the sweet fun doesn’t end there.

The world-famous ice cream makers over at Baskin Robbins have confirmed a collaboration with Nintendo in Japan that’s set to bring a tricolor Splatoon 3 flavor to the region.

Unfortunately the flavors don’t match the Splatfest, instead bringing together peach, grape, and soda. This is undeniably more vibrant, though, looking like the perfect dairy interpretation of a tricolor turf war.

A variety of cups and other pieces of merch will also be available as the promotion runs across Japan from June 30th to July 20th this year. The Splatfest, meanwhile, will take place on the weekend starting July 14th.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
