Break out the streamers and party hats – Kirby is now 31! The pink puffball debuted in monochrome back on the Game Boy on April 27th, 1992, meaning he’s now at the age where he contemplates buying a house and starting a retirement account for the future. And his friends – the developers at HAL Laboratory – are celebrating with brand-new art:

Kirby has a cake and is partying with his Return to Dreamland Deluxe pals: Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, and even Magolor. The cake is also decorated with Waddle Dee cookies that are so adorable I could eat them up. Which is good, considering they’re cookies.

Here’s to another 31 years of copy abilities, cake, and cutesiness! Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe is out now.
