With the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie less than two weeks, the collaboration between one of the biggest video game companies in the world and one of the most prominent current animation studios around is getting a promotional boost from one of the absolute most powerful corporations on the face of the planet – Amazon is shipping items in special packaging designed to resemble ? Blocks. Aw, that’s cute. The international corporate synergy on display probably exceeds the annual trade level of a small nation, but it’s cute.

It’s a very clever way to spread the word about the movie in a way that accurately references one of gaming’s greatest icons. We do note, however, that punching or otherwise hitting the packages will not cause the items stored within to pop out (unless you do it really really hard, which we do not advise). The Super Mario Bros. Movie releases on April 5th.
