Despite its relatively simple shipwrecked hero premise, Ys VIII: The Lacrimosa of Dana deals with some heavy themes as its story progresses, especially upon the introduction of the titular heroine Dana.
Now that story is getting retold in novel form, courtesy of writer Anna Kashina, known for her “The Majat Code” series.

The Ys VIII: The Lacrimosa of Dana novel will release digitally and as a paperback in October 2023! As for the game, it’s available across multiple platforms now, including the Nintendo Switch.
