The pink puffball rides again – beloved platformer icon Kirby is getting a brand-new monthly manga beginning in March. Simply titled “Hoshi no Kirby”/”Kirby of the Stars” (the Japanese title for the Kirby series), it’ll be penned by mangaka Minori Katou (primarily an author of shoujo romance manga, as well as fellow Nintendo adaptation Assemble! Animal Crossing) and debut in CIao issue 4/2023 that releases in March.

Details about the series are sparse, but given Katou’s other works it’ll likely be a light, cutesy slice of life manga in line with Kirby’s general vibe. This is far from the first Kirby manga in existence – the most prominent is Kirby Manga Mania, a kids manga that originally ran from 1994 to 2006, but there have been many manga versions of Kirby aside from this one. We’ll be sure to report on any substantial news regarding the publication going forward.
