It’s that time of year – with the recent release of Fire Emblem Engage meaning Nintendo is lacking in blockbuster releases for a few months, and a long time since we’ve heard any concentrated news, whispers of an imminent Nintendo Direct abound. And the mods of subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumours have made the bold, apparently verified claim that a Direct is coming on February 7th.
“Among this the proof also provided knowledge that there isn’t plans for a new/successor to the Switch this year and that Nintendo is only beginning to work closer with Chinese manufacturers,” says the post. The mods say they can’t confirm if the leak is true, but also that they can’t confirm if it’s false, either.
Will a Direct come then? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, it’s a whisper like all the others, even if the whisper has a big name behind it.
