First 4 Figures has been producing gaming statues for years, covering plenty of popular bases. Today though, they’ve done something a little different — they’re asking fans to help them greenlight a new product line. Not just any product line either, but a statue series based on Sonic the Hedgehog’s beloved A-Life mascots.

Chao have remained firmly in Sonic fans’ minds thanks to their turn as digital pets in the Sonic Adventure duology. The concept for First 4’s first foray into capturing their cuteness is based on Sonic Adventure 2’s Dark Chao Garden, complete with a Shadow Chao and others representing their stages of maturity.
How far this statue series could go is up in the air, but presumably would extend to the Hero and Neutral Chao Gardens as well. It all depends on fan interest via email sign-ups, with details like potential pricing and timing being unknowns at present.
Still, the idea of some premium Chao merch on the horizon is tempting. Not quite as tempting as… I don’t know, the return of the Chao Garden as either a standalone app/game or part of a future Sonic title. But it’s still something, and an adorable something at that.
