Marketing for the Super Mario Bros. Movie continues to ramp up worldwide, as evidenced by the various TV spots that have been spotted all over the world since the debut of the official Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer last week, and it looks like McDonald’s is getting in on the action in Japan. A flyer distributed in McDonald’s restaurants in Japan is giving us our first look at the Super Mario Bros. Movie Happy Meal set, which will begin distribution on December 23rd, 2022.
Be warned that since the Super Mario Bros. Movie was originally set to be released on December 21st, this Happy Meal set may contain a few slight spoilers for the film.
The flyer showcases two waves of toys with the first featuring Mario jumping out of a Warp Pipe, Princess Peach, Toad driving a kart, and Donkey Kong holding a barrel; while the second wave consists of Mario driving a kart, Luigi holding an unidentified yellow object, Bowser breathing fire, and a blue Luma.
Keep in mind that this is, at the moment, a Japan-specific promotion, though that could change as we get closer to the release date of the Super Mario Bros. Movie on April 7th, 2023.
