While much of the publicity surrounding Hollywood movies usually focuses on the stars or maybe the director, they’re a massive collaborative process involving thousands of people, many of whom will never get acknowledgement outside of the credits. And while many an animator or technician will go unnoticed, there are other roles that have at least the opportunity to get their work known — like, say, a composer. Brian Tyler, the composer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, shared a bit of said work –0 namely “Mario Suite Part 3” on Instagram.

Tyler was apparently recording with a live orchestra and choir, which makes the prospect of the music we’ll hear in the movie all the more enticing. We’ll see if Tyler can live up to the likes of Koji Kondo’s legendary score or not, though Kondo himself is helping out with the production, so we have high hopes. The Super Mario Bros. Movie releases on April 7th, 2023.
