Update (10/3/22): After a three year break, people will once again be able to attend The Game Awards for the 2022 event on December 8th.

A limited number of tickets for general and accessible seating will be available starting this November 1st at 9 a.m. PT. For an extra unique experience, you’ll also have the option to rent out Lexus Boxes that include access to a VIP entrance, VIP lounge throughout the event, a private bar, and a private box to watch the show.

With summer fading fast, 2022 is drawing ever nearer to a close, which mean’s Geoff Keighley’s annual celebration of all of the best things gaming has had to offer this year is almost upon us. 2022’s iteration of The Game Awards will be streaming live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California with the official date finally announced as December 8th, 2022.

 

 

Along with the announcement of the date of the event, Geoff Keighley has announced that The Game Awards event is introducing a brand-new award category this year: Best Adaptation. Poised to focus on authentic adaptations of video games into other mediums, the Best Adaptation category will consider movies, television shows, books, podcasts, comics, and more.
