Pokémon Worlds 2022 (a.k.a. 2022 Pokémon World Championships) is almost here and Nintendo is joining in on the fun with a promotion of their own. Announced today on the official Nintendo of America Twitter, Pokkén Tournament DX is getting another Game Trials! Previously available to play for free (if you were a Nintendo Switch Online member with an active membership) back in the summer of 2020, this time you’ll have almost a week to duke it out in this fighter.
From Thursday, August 18th at 10 a.m. PT until Wednesday, August 24th at 11:59 p.m. PT, members can try Pokkén Tournament DX out for themselves. If you enjoy the game and want to own it digitally, Nintendo is discounting it by 30% in the Nintendo eShop. That particular deal will be available until Wednesday, August 31st at 11:59 p.m. PT. Hence the wording mix-up in the tweet below.
#NintendoSwitchOnline members can earn 100 #MyNintendo Platinum Points by participating in this Game Trial.

This Game Trials is also a little bittersweet, as this is the last year that Pokkén Tournament DX will be included in Pokémon Worlds’ competitive gaming line-up. Still, for anyone who has yet to try Pokkén Tournament DX (and missed out on the original Wii U version, Pokkén Tournament), this week will be the perfect time! Or if you need more My Nintendo Platinum Points, you can get 100 by downloading the demo and booting it up briefly.
To get maximum gaming time, you can pre-download the trial now and enjoy it starting on Thursday, August 18th at 10 a.m. PT | 1 p.m. ET.
