JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is approaching, and a new overview trailer is here to discuss the renewed stylish fighter. Like some of the original release’s promotional material, this trailer is being handled by two of the series’ characters. Rohan Kishibe and Koichi Hirose (both from Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable) are here, thankfully not refusing the chance to detail the game in greater detail.
The first portion goes through the types of characters, ranging from the iconic Stand abilities all the way to simply fighting on horseback. Past that we learn about and see in action the new assist mechanic, adjustments to game modes, and even a built-in tournament bracket for the game. It appears that some of the more questionable ideas from the game’s first iteration (such as an energy-based mode for unlocking cosmetics) are being left behind in favor of a more straightforward but no less true-to-the-source setup.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R will arrive, on Switch and more, on Friday, September 2nd.
