Ah, SDCC. A time for press interviews, cool trailers, and merch. So, so much merch. And while it’s always hard to crown on “winner” on such fronts, the mere suggestion of this product — a Pikachu Squishmallow — makes a strong case before there’s even been an official reveal.

Squishmallows are, of course, the extremely huggable and soft plushies that have risen to prominence over the past few years due to size, comfort, and variety. Pokémon, meanwhile, is… you know what Pokémon is; you don’t need me to explain it. While only a Pikachu Squishmallow is teased above, we’re practically salivating over the thought of other potential Poké-friends becoming the plushies: Starters? Legendaries? Snorlax? The possibilities are endlessly enticing.
