Earlier this year Nintendo delivered the unfortunate but sadly expected news that it would be discontinuing the eShop on Wii U and 3DS in March 2023.

Now the company has shared more specific dates. First up is a reminder that it’ll no longer be possible to add funds via eShop cards from August 29th, though it’s worth noting that those with a linked Nintendo Account can still add money to their shared wallet through the Nintendo Switch. Credit cards haven’t been usable through the 3DS and Wii U storefronts since May of this year.

The more significant date, however, is March 27th, 2023. This is when purchases will cease entirely, including in other apps such as StreetPass and Nintendo Badge Arcade.

As of right now it’ll still be possible to redownload already purchased games, play online, and receive updates on these platforms even after the March 27th date.
