Since its launch last year, Pokémon GO’s developer Niantic has been updating its social walking application, Pikmin Bloom, with new monthly Decor Pikmin to collect and minor feature adjustments. With the latest update to the application, Niantic will finally be adding new features to the core experience to help flesh out its social gameplay elements.

In the latest Pikmin Bloom update, users can choose to participate in two new types of weekly challenges where players work together to walk a total of 20,000 or 100,000 steps collectively and continue to plant landscapes of flowers. Additionally, an “invite” option will now allow players to invite specific friends to join them on their weekly challenges.

All players who join in on the two new weekly challenges and complete them before July 24th will receive special outfits for their Miis. The Explore and Flower T-shirts can be obtained by completing the step-based and flower-based challenge before July 17th and July 24th retrospectively.

To further expand the social presence of Pikmin Bloom, Niantic will soon be holding IRL events coming soon to select locations in the United States. More information regarding these events will be made available at a later date.

Niantic welcomes users to share their Pikmin Bloom adventures with the social media hashtag #WalkOnGameOn. When more Pikmin Bloom news is made available, we’ll report back.
