Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is but days away at this point, but it took pole position in today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase all the same. The latest trailer had a returning monster to share, though it’s one players likely expected after the last batch of reveals. After Gore Magala’s reveal, it was only a matter of time before we’d see the spread wings of Shagaru Magala.
This Elder Dragon is only one of the added monsters in Sunbreak, though this trailer featured some previously unannounced variants as well. Furious Rajang is back, and we have the reveal of one for vanilla Rise’s flagship monster. Scorned Magnamalo will be a new threat for players to overcome despite Sunbreak’s Malzeno taking the spotlight.
One last surprise was that of a second monster coming as part of the planned title update in August. Seething Bazelgeuse will dive-bomb in along with Lucent Nargacuga, with more content coming past that and into 2023. It all starts with Sunbreak’s release, arriving on Nintendo Switch and PC June 30th.
