In a recent interview with Nintendo Everything, Studio MDHR’s Executive Producer and Studio Director Maja Moldenhauer was asked about the long-awaited physical release of Cuphead on Nintendo Switch that was formally announced in 2019. After years of anticipation from fans, Moldenhauer was able to reconfirm that the physical release was still on the way.
In Nintendo Everything’s interview, Moldenhauer had the following to say regarding a physical release of Cuphead:
“We can confirm we are planning to do a physical release, and keep your ear to the ground in the coming months – we’ll have more to share about that, but there will be a physical.”
For those unaware, three years ago when Cuphead first came to Nintendo Switch Studio MDHR had noted that the game would be getting a physical release sometime in the future after The Delicious Last Course DLC had been released. However, due to the global pandemic and needed development time, the Delicious Last Course took far longer to finish than Studio MDHR had anticipated.
Cuphead’s The Delicious Last Course DLC will be released on Nintendo Switch next week on June 30th. When more details regarding a physical release are made available we’ll be sure to let you know!
