Hot on the heels of the ESA’s confirmation that E3 will return next year, it was announced that Summer Game Fest will have both a digital and in-person event in 2023.

Geoff Keighley, Summer Game Fest organizer and host, shared the news at the end of today’s Summer Game Fest livestream.

“I’m excited to share that Summer Game Fest will return in June 2023 as a digital and in-person event, to bring the gaming community together,” said Keighley.

Summer Game Fest launched in 2020 — the same year the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancelation of video game trade show E3 — to help developers and publishers showcase their games.

Since its inaugural year, it’s returned annually with a month-long calendar of events, shows, and announcements put on by Summer Game Fest and third parties alike.

2023 will be the first time the all-digital Summer Game Fest has had an in-person presence.

No other details about 2023’s shows were given, including dates, locations, or what the in-person event will look like.
