The folks at Square Enix just held a 35th anniversary event for Dragon Quest in Japan, and among the the announcements is a brand-new game! Starring Erik and Mia from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, it features the two of them as children who set off on a treasure-hunting adventure to another world.

This new spinoff is “an RPG, but nothing at all like a traditional one,” according to producer Taichi Inazuka, sparing no other details. There’s no release window or even consoles announced for the game, but the team is working with DQ maestro Yuji Horii to ensure a worldwide release when the time comes. We’ll share news and details on DQT as they’re revealed.
