Update (8/10/22): You can tune in to the live music event in the West around 2 a.m. PT | 4 a.m. CT  | 5 a.m. ET. And if you can’t make that late showing, a recording will be provided at a later date! Stay tuned and we’ll share it here.

Kirby’s 25th Anniversary saw a full orchestra unite to pay tribute to two and a half decades of Dream Land. These performances were limited to Japan, but it did have me wondering what could be in store for the ongoing 30th Anniversary. Well wonder no longer, as a new live music event has been announced, and this time it’s streaming… for free!

To be held in Tokyo, the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival will also be shared with the world when it debuts on August 11th. The theming is going much more vibrant than the classy art of the orchestra, with Kirby and friends (and “friends”) sporting blue, purple, and pink outfits. Ticket sale lotteries have begun for fans in Japan, and special goods are on the way, but if you’re elsewhere in the world you’ll still be able to watch for the reasonable price of absolutely nothing.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
