Nintendo has announced that Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot will be delayed once more. Previously pushed back to April 8th for developmental polish, this new delay is instead “in light of recent world events” and has no given new release date.

While not stated plainly, this comes in response to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Setting aside even the general warfare, strategy, and infantry invasion aspects; Advance Wars’ setting also includes an analogue to Russia in the form of its Blue Moon nation. Depictions of their vehicles and weaponry (as well as the Commanding Officer Olaf) have been modeled after those of the former Soviet Union, and it’s likely that their place in the game has some role in this decision making.
Whatever the case may be, we’ll share the new release date for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp once it’s announced.
