The news and hubbub leading up to Sunday’s Pokémon Day celebrations were quieter than usual, and that wasn’t for no reason — it was only a scant few days since Ukraine was invaded by Russia in a culmination of years’ worth of tension and war. The eyes of the world are on Eastern Europe, and while Pokémon did not outright cancel or delay its yearly presentation, it did attempt to hold it more quietly (even if timelines were filled with weed cats for the rest of the day). And now, The Pokémon Company has donated $200,000 USD to GlobalGiving for families and children affected by the crisis:
