Knowing the side scrolling beat ‘em up genre is alive and well warms my arcade-raised heart. Soon to be bumping fists with Streets of Rage 4 and River City Girls will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and a new trailer just revealed the next playable character. Joining his four students and number one ally April O’Neil is none other than Splinter!
The turtles already know Master Splinter’s way cool, but seeing him fight with both staff and ninja techniques really drives home how formidable a fighter he can be. Not only that, but it’s got me hoping that even more characters get in on the action. Casey Jones is just begging to get in on this all out brawl, and I bet there’s room for at least one more on that updated character art at the end…
However large its roster gets, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge will bust out of the sewers and onto Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam later this year.
