Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a fresh new take on the franchise, but aesthetically it takes place in the past — an older, dustier time. And what by nature are older and dustier than antiques? What would we think of an old-timey Poké Ball today? These are the questions at the center of a commercial for the game, which parodies Antiques Roadshow in a charmingly goofy fashion.
Everything from the special effects to the acting is kitschy in the best way, and watching a prop Basculegion just annihilate the ever-loving hell out of the roadshow is enthralling in the only way destruction can be. This is exactly the right kind of silly ad, and we can only hope we see more like it in the future.
