Arcades in the late ’80s and early ’90s pioneered 3D graphics in myriad ways, but one of the most striking is the SuperScaler effect employed by the likes of OutRun, Hang-On, Space Harrier, and more. By cleverly manipulating 2D sprites, these games gave the impression of moving “into” the screen, and in many ways it still holds up to this day.
Now Victory Heat Rally is bringing back that aesthetic and then some with a deliberate aim to bring back the classic feel of arcade racers of yore, and it’s heading to Switch courtesy of the Playtonic Friends label.
You’ll be able to tear up the tracks in Victory Heat Rally in 2022.
