The fear of being eaten is a primal one, and even after humanity has seemingly climbed their way up the food chain it persists. Such a phobia is why sharks and dinosaurs get such a bad reputation in media, and likely inspired several of the spirits featured in Smash Ultimate’s weekly event.

To be fair, many of these are a little less Jaws and a little more Billy Big Mouth Bass. I don’t think we have to worry about Pyoro devouring poor Villager anytime soon, though a Chain Chomp or Rayquaza might at least leave a mark…
So open wide and get ready to gobble up some spirit battles this weekend along with the extra rewards they bring. However large or small your appetite may be for these recurring events, they still manage to keep Super Smash Bros. on our minds as we await the next and final fighter reveal.
