It’s been a few months since we’ve seen much at all of the upcoming action-adventure Baldo: The Guardian Owls, but you can rest assured that NAPS team hasn’t been sitting on its hands. The game finally has a solid release date of August 27th on Nintendo Switch and other platforms, as well as an exciting new trailer to celebrate.

The trailer shows some of the locations seen in previous gameplay videos, including Kidoge Village, Baldo’s hometown; The Lost Galleon, an old shipwreck that Balda’s grandpa has long been searching for; and Haneko Plain, a grassy area that Baldo and his friend Luna can explore together. There are also tons more locations, characters, and enemies to be seen in the trailer, with a giant spider boss being a particular highlight.

It bears repeating that this definitely seems like a game that Legend of Zelda fans would be interested in, with the game teasing lots of exploration, dungeons, puzzles, side quests, and boss fights — and if that’s not on the nose enough for you, previous footage has shown a talking owl, a magical musical instrument, and breakable pots among the many references to what could very well be Baldo’s main inspiration.
