It’s been a crazy year for Nintendo rumors. “Industry Insiders” from across the internet were aflutter earlier this year with news of an impending “Nintendo Switch Pro”, with a new screen, 4K AI upscaling, and beefed up hardware. As it turns out, those rumors materialized into a much less sophisticated upgrade with the OLED Nintendo Switch. No updated hardware, no fancy AI upscaling dock, just a bigger, fancier screen.
Nintendo fans were a bit disappointed, (though not all that much, it seems, as preorders sold out almost instantly) but still remain hopeful that a Pro model of the Switch is still coming soon. Nintendo, on the other hand, has something to say about that.
We also want to clarify that we just announced that Nintendo Switch(OLED Model) will launch in October, 2021, and have no plans for launching any other model at this time. (2/2)

In a statement from Nintendo to its investor partners, the company claims to have no plans for another Switch model at this time. While its likely Nintendo R&D is hard at work on the Switch’s successor, it might be some time before it makes it into the hands of gamers.
