The official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel has released a new series celebrating the Blue Blur’s 30th anniversary, called Sonic Rings. The series focuses on Sonic superfans who have spent their lives playing and celebrating all things fast.

The first episode features Jirard “The Completionist” Khalil. Khalil recounts his history with the series, including how being a “completionist” is rewarding in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where finding all seven Chaos Emeralds grants the ability to play as Super Sonic. He also amusingly tries to draw Sonic in under two minutes, and speedruns the first stage of Green Hill Zone. Khalil has a history of working with Sega and the official Sonic social media teams, so it’s cool to see him featured in a video like this!
