There was quite a bit to get excited about during today’s Netflix Geeked Week livestream. From a new live-action Resident Evil series reveal to a teaser for the upcoming season 2 of The Witcher. One pleasant surprise was the reveal of a new Splinter Cell anime that’s currently in the works at Netflix. This new animated adaptation of Ubisoft’s spy-thriller franchise is planned to be written by the creator of the John Wick franchise, Derek Kolstad.

While not much is known of the new anime just yet, the grizzled and aged look of series protagonist Sam Fisher suggests that it will take place fairly late in the franchise’s timeline – perhaps even at the latest point in the Splinter Cell cannon yet. Here’s hoping the powers that be at Netflix put a call out to Michael Ironside’s agent to have him reprise his role as the Third Echelon’s greatest agent.
