While Nintendo may not be as embracive of animated and live-action film projects as they once were, the company’s fans have certainly kept the dream of featuring their character in other forms of entertainment mediums outside of games alive and well. From Ember Lab’s acclaimed “Terrible Fate” Majora’s Mask-inspired fan film to SaganYee’s EarthBound anniversary short, Nintendo may occasionally release a promotional video for their latest title, but fans have been making high-budget independent content for years.

“Metroid: Attack of Ridley” is the latest fan project from the one and only director Devin Graham (previously worked on “Mario Kart in Real Life” and “Pokémon – Banette’s Curse”) that is absolutely worth checking out. Taking place after Samus Aran’s discovery of the Metroid species and foiling the plans of the space pirate leader Mother Brain, the iconic bounty hunter finds herself on planet SR422 to take on the threat of a familiar foe. You can check out devinsupertramp’s inspiring action-packed project directly below!
