Many haven’t been to a movie theater in over a year, myself included. As a result, I’d wager that for many of you reading this, one of the last trips you made was for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie thanks to its February 2020 release.

With a little luck we’ll be able to grab some popcorn (or a chili dog) and make it into theater seats by the time its sequel comes along.

As announced by director Jeff Fowler, production has officially begun on Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Set to prominently feature Tails, there’s not much else known about the movie in terms of plot specifics.

Still, with the first film’s successes and plenty of good faith from fans, there’s a lot to look forward to when the Sonic sequel releases April 8th, 2022.
