In 2018, IDW rebooted the universe of Sonic comics and they’ve been going strong ever since. With 2021 marking the 30th anniversary of the blue blur in general, it was only natural that the comics would be getting in on the action, and we now know that there’ll be a panel detailing what’s to come.
On March 26th at 11 a.m. PT you’ll be able to tune into WonderCon@Home’s IDW Sonic stream, which promises to “announce details about the Sonic 30th Anniversary Comic Special with guest appearances by top-secret blockbuster talent who will be writing Sonic comics in 2021!”
The currently confirmed panelists are as follows –
- Bracardi Curry, colorist/Inker/cover artist of Sonic The Hedgehog (Ongoing) and Annual 2020
- Evan Stanley, writer/artist of Sonic The Hedgehog (Ongoing)
- Gale Galligan, writer of 30th Anniversary Special and Sonic FCBD
- Ian Flynn, writer of Sonic The Hedgehog (Ongoing) and Bad Guys
- Michael Cisneros, manager of licensing, SEGA of America
Chances are we won’t be seeing any long-awaited game announcements as part of this, but it’ll hopefully one of many Sonic streams to come over the next few months!
