Next month, Crackle is set to premiere a new, five-part documentary series called Playing with Power: The Nintendo Story. Directed by Video Games: The Movie’s Jeremy Snead and executive produced and narrated by The Lord of the Rings‘ Sean Astin, each episode will explore Nintendo’s long and incredible history.

The debut trailer unsurprisingly features lots of games industry folks, including Phil Spencer, Tommy Tallarico, Cliff Bleszinski, praising Nintendo for their revolutionary ideas and all the unforgettable memories the company has brought to fans over several decades. However, the latter half of the video also teases an exploration into the not-so-positive side of Nintendo’s history, including controversy, lawsuits, and criticism of its business strategies.

According to the press release, the docuseries is also set to feature former Nintendo CEO Reggie Fils-Aimé, actor Wil Wheaton, TV personality Alison Haislip, and many more big names from within the video game industry.

Playing with Power: The Nintendo Story will premiere on Crackle on March 1st, 2021.
