Just when you think Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out of themes for events, it blindsides you with a tackle like this. For its next online tournament event it’s limiting things to just fighters who have a way of hurling their whole body into enemies, something I never really considered but definitely see how prevalent it is now.
Charge! Stomp! Bash! The #SmashBrosUltimate event tourney "Grand Slam", running for three days from 19/02, is for fighters who throw the full force of their body into their specials! pic.twitter.com/bnOfMFM16R

Just look at all these full-body collisions in motion! Wario’s famous shoulder rush, Fox and Falco’s side specials, and Ness’ PK Thunder follow-up only scratch the surface here. I can think of others, like Banjo & Kazooie and Sonic, that would make the cut easily but now I have to wonder where the line is drawn…
Does Piranha Plant’s pot count as its body? What about Bowser Jr.’s Clown Car? When Olimar throws a Pikmin does that fit the requirement? These are the kinds of burning questions these restrictive events breed, and I need answers.
Brace yourself for answers and all these attacks when the tournament event begins on February 19th, and runs through the weekend.
