Bandai Namco continues to spotlight each of the Tales of series titles in turn, and today they’ve landed on an interesting chapter of that legacy. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World had the daunting task of following up the original Symphonia’s story and characters.

It may not have reached those heights, but the game does carry its own kind of charm and remains popular in Japan. As an Escort title, it’s not exactly fair to hold it to the standards of Mothership titles for the series, and it would be the last game in the series on a Nintendo console in the west for quite a while. So, good try, Emil Castagnier. Good try.

Earlier this month another Escort title got some love, that being the PSP crossover Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. It brought together some characters from plenty of Tales games released up to that point, and it’s the only one of the larger Radiant Mythology series to end up localized.

There are still more Tales of remembrance on the way with these videos, including the ever-popular Tales of Vesperia and potentially some unlocalized Nintendo-system titles. Be on the lookout for those, and hopefully some new news for the series.
