Pokémon fans of young and old might have started playing the video game versions of Pokémon, or even watching the anime, yet there’s more Pokémon media out there to partake in. The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is the card game adaptation of battling Pokémon and to be the best that ever was. Of course, with a new medium brings a new set of rules. To make it easier to learn the game and build a battle worthy deck, The Pokémon Company has a new video series to get you started! Announced earlier this week, the Top Deck Academy series’ first episode is now available!

Hosted by Ellis Longhurst, a Pokémon TCG player and caster for Play! Pokémon, shows you how to build a deck in five easy steps! As an example, you’ll see how she builds a deck around  Samurott from the new Sword & Shield—Vivid Voltage expansion!

You can watch the first episode below and check out the episode overview and its notes on the official Pokémon site.

New episodes are planned to come out each week on YouTube, Twitch, and posted on Pokémon.com (along with the episode breakdown and notes) on Thursdays at 2 p.m. PT | 5 p.m. ET.
