Ash, Brock, May, and Max’s adventures in Hoenn continue in Pokémon: Advanced Challenge, which is headed to streaming service Pokémon TV this Friday.

Pokémon: Advanced Challenge is the seventh season of the Pokémon anime and the second of four seasons known collectively as Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire.

“In Pokémon: Advanced Challenge, Ash is determined to earn more Gym Badges, while May enters more Pokémon Contests in the hope of winning Contest Ribbons,” the official Pokémon website’s article describes the season. “Luckily, our heroes have new Pokémon friends like Torkoal and Bulbasaur by their sides to help them achieve their goals. It’s not all fun and games, though—Team Magma and Team Aqua have their own nefarious plans in motion, and they don’t care who gets in the way! Our heroes will have to work extra hard to help save the day.”

Pokémon: Advanced Challenge originally saw a U.S. run from September 17th, 2005 to July 8th, 2006 on the now-defunct The WB’s kids’ programming block, Kids’ WB!.

Fans of the anime can rejoin the Pokémon crew’s adventures in Hoenn when the season arrives on Pokémon TV Friday, February 5th, 2021.
