This week, Mega Ampharos finally landed in Pokémon GO, bringing the Electric/Dragon-type Mega Evolution to Raids around the world, and Niantic will be celebrating this weekend with a Mareep Incense Day on Sunday, January 24th.

From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Incense will attract Mareep at a higher rate than usual, with a chance at coming across Shiny Mareep. Plus, any Flaaffy evolved into Ampharos during this time period will know Dragon Pulse, a move previously only available through Community Days featuring Mareep. A 1 PokéCoin bundle will also be available in the shop, featuring three Incense for trainers to use.

During the whole event there will be other Pokémon making an appearance to players using Incense, with different blocks of time for different types. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Electric-type Pokémon such as Pikachu, Magenmite, Voltorb, Chinchou, Mareep, Plusle, and Minun will be appearing more frequently, while the blocks of 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. will be filled with Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-types; expect to encounter Horsea, Dratini, Mareep, Trapinch, Vibrava, and Swablu. The official announcement also mentions that lucky players may encounter Stunfisk or Bagon during their types’ respective time blocks.

As usual, please be aware of your surroundings and any local public health guidelines while you’re out adventuring with your Pokémon Pals, and happy catching!
