Even though it was the very first piece of the Hobonichi Mother Project announced, things have been quiet on the book release of the series’ scripts. Now that an official fanbook and plenty of merchandise have had these games on our minds all year, they’re finally ready to deliver on that compendium.

Mother: The Complete Scripts will gather up every line of dialogue from Mother, EarthBound, and Mother 3 in their original Japanese. The above video, set to Mother’s Eight Melodies, gives a look both at the nostalgic impact such a set is going for and a look at the books themselves. Purchases will also come with an accompanying Mother series sticker set, covering each of the three games.

Even if the books are only available in Japanese, there’s something tempting about it as a piece of merchandise. In one year we’ve gone from a couple amiibo and some journal covers being the only EarthBound goods around, to having so much of it I’ve actually managed to lose track.

The set will sell for 8,888 yen – about $85. They’ll be orderable from the Hobonichi Mother Project store starting December 14th before making their way to Japanese bookstores on December 25th.
