Super Mario Sunshine is remembered for a lot of things, but one of the characters that soon became recurring throughout the franchise is the portly boss version of one of Mario’s oldest enemies. Petey Piranha flew and spew into our memories and went on to show up in Mario Kart, sports titles, and even Super Smash Bros. as a boss and Final Smash. Now the big plant in the small shorts will be coming back as part of Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
They aren’t the only boss you’ll face off with on Isle Delfino though. Phantamanta is creeping up from the horizon to spread electric goop and propagate like there’s no tomorrow. If Mario’s not careful, as shown above, there won’t be.
You can look forward to facing off with these two, Gooper Blooper, and those terrible Chucksters in Sunshine when Super Mario 3D All-Stars arrives on September 18th.
