As 2020 enters its final third, fans have no doubt been wondering what the status is for any game tentatively scheduled for a release this year. Among those is No More Heroes 3, the return of Travis Touchdown from Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture. After a few appearances at various events (where the game was usually obscured, or even absent) Suda51 has delivered a formal statement, confirming No More Heroes 3 is delayed to 2021.

The Switch exclusive owes its delay to COVID-19, and its effect on productivity and quality for the game’s development. That said, the team is back on their feet and able to work more fully again, according to the given words. No range was given, so other than 2021 that’s all we have on the game’s release timeframe.
It wasn’t all bad news though, as it was announced artist and illustrator Darick Robertson (known for The Boys, Happy!, and previous work with Marvel and DC comics) will be contributing key art for No More Heroes 3. One such illustration was provided, showing Travis himself.
