It is no secret at this point that fans of the Prince of Persia series from Ubisoft will soon have the opportunity to return to Dastan’s world in a brand new remake of the game’s first entry. Previously, we reported that a Prince of Persia remake had been listed for Switch and PlayStation 4 by Guatemalan retailer MAX on their digital and physical storefronts. Since that article’s publication, multiple other listings have appeared across the internet along with several journalists backing up the rumored original reimagining.

During episode nineteen of the Triple Click Podcast (which you can listen to with the link right here), Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, who has a notable track record regarding video game rumors and leaks, claimed that Ubisoft planned to officially announce the new title during the upcoming Forward event.

The last time a Prince of Persia game released was The Forgotten Sands in May 2010. Ubisoft has had plenty of information leaks this generation with their titles so it seems likely that a series remake could potentially be on the horizon. Until the company officially announces the title, we will keep you updated if this story develops any further. The Ubisoft Forward event is scheduled for September 10th at 10 p.m. PDT with a main show lasting approximately two hours.
