Let the fanfare sound and open the castle gates, for the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tourney event is to be a royal affair. Nintendo has a penchant for kings and princesses, and for this next online event they’re throwing down in all their finery.

Peach and Zelda are rightfully taking point, but any royal is invited. We have the King of the Koopas, the self proclaimed King of Dream Land, and nearly every playable Fire Emblem character in Smash. I expect King K. Rool and Ganondorf to crash the party too, though it remains to be seen if Bowser Jr. (he’s a prince, right?) or Donkey Kong (King of the Jungle AND King of Swing!) will make the cut. As an added touch, only castle stages will be eligible as well.
The Smash Ultimate “A Most Regal Battle” online event shall begin August 21st and run through the weekend.
