Despite the ongoing global pandemic, construction at Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World has been going steady, and recent footage of the construction has shown a lot of colorful additions — boosted by featuring both day and night footage of the land.

We can see a ton of moving animatronics, from a mushroom and a Koopa shell that glide perfectly across the ground, to a friendly Yoshi circling a tree, to Piranha Plants wiggling about. In the night footage we can see elements like the ? blocks light up, though most of the implements are minor compared to the demonic red glare coming from Bowser’s Castle.

All in all, the look and motion of Mario seems to be recreated beautifully in what we’ve seen thus far, and we can’t wait to see the finished park! We’ll be sure to provide you with more updates as they come to light.
