We’re long past the point of just using concept art and scale models to figure out what Super Nintendo World will look like, as a new aerial photograph has shown that the new theme park area is seemingly near completion at Universal Studios Japan.

The update comes from an aerial photograph taken by Instagram user imaiko02, which shows the full park. It’s worth noting that while there are empty gaps, it’s unlikely those on-the-ground exploring the Mushroom Kingdom will be able to see them, thanks to forced perspective tricks.

It was suggested that the Japanese park would open in time for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but due to their postponement and social distancing rules still in effect across the country, it remains to be seen just when you’ll be able to visit.

We’ll be sure to bring you the latest as it comes in.
