If you thought that Mr. Reggie Fils-Aimé would be using his retirement to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons on a quiet beach somewhere in the world, you’d be partially right. Retiring from Nintendo of America in 2019, Reggie has continued to work in the industry in different ways. Back in March he announced that he was joining GameStop’s Board of Directors and would aid in the turnaround of the video game entertainment retailer. Now in May, Reggie is joining another company’s board — and this one is all about toys.
What do I have in common with Bakugan, Hatchimals, PAW Patrol, GUND, Air Hogs, Sago Mini and Kinetic Sand? Answer: I am joining the board of Spin Master Corp. — an innovative force in the global toy industry. A new way to make life more fun!

Spin Master Corp., a Canadian company, welcomed Reggie and Christina Miller (former President of WarnerMedia’s Kids, Young Adults and Classic division) to their board of directors yesterday. The toy company is known for the following toy brands: Zoomer®, Bakugan®, Erector® by Meccano®, Hatchimals®, Air Hogs® and PAW Patrol®. There isn’t any overt Nintendo crossover here, but it is funny to note that Hatchimals launched during the same holiday shopping season as the NES Classic and suffered the same issue of overwhelming demand and limited stock.
Reggie is now on two different companies’ board of directors. Time to place your bets on if he’ll join a third and what business sector it will be in.
